If you pay attention to the NFL draft at all I'm sure you've heard of Jimmy Johnson's famous draft pick value chart. Curious to see thoughts on a sim league draft pick value chart, or if one could be automated based on average win shares per draft spot historically etc. For reference, said NFL chart:

Here is a website that I found for NBA Draft Value: nbasense.com/draft-pick-trade-value/2/kevin-pelton-2eric could you do a WS breakdown per pick for the first 5 drafts so far? I know you did it heading into 6.0 to set the rookie wage scale but I would be interested to see what it looks like so far in 6.0.

Maybe I have this wrong but based on JHB's article
1.12 1.16 1.21
as a package is worth more than 1.1
Is anyone trading 1.1 for that set of picks?
If i'm not reading his chart correctly please let me know

If i'm not reading his chart correctly please let me know Yeah that chart isn't ready to be used as a 1:1 comparison for pick trades because it doesn't account for the value of concentrating win production. Serves as a better tool to gauge player for pick trades atm.

If you played someone you selected with a pick 36 mpg over 82 games a season for the life of their longest possible deal on the contract they get with that pick, you'd expect them to accumulate that many win shares. So if you're trading 1.1, you want to be trading it for someone who can get you 50+ wins over the life of their contract, probably more than that because their contract is likely to be much more expensive $-wise than a 1.1 that's at mid-level money
