Williams is one of the many straight from HS prospects coming to TMBSL in this class. His calling card is fantastic offensive instincts as a scorer, a bit like his fellow HS-to-TMBSL prospect Monta Ellis, except his calling card is getting into the paint and finding ways to score around the rim and get to the free throw line.
He has exceptional quickness and adequate strength for his size. His jump shot doesn't have any obvious flaws and while he is approaching irrational confidence guy territory, he doesn't find himself enough good looks as a shooter to put up respectable shooting percentages from distant at this point in his career. Another problem he'll have to overcome is that he's incredibly aggressive with penetration, to the point of carelessness at times. His handle is solid, he's just so aggressive he is a bit out of control at times and he isn't a willing passer so at times when he should hit a safety valve he often takes the extra dribble or two that get him into trouble and result in a turnover. His point guard skills are definitely lacking at this point, but his body will anchor him to the position. He may best serve as a scoring spark off the bench rather than a lead PG because an assist to turnover ratio may be ugly as he learns as a young player.
Williams has a similar profile to Monta Ellis defensively as well, but without the outwardly apparent body language issues. His length, strength, and height will hold him back from ever being great and to that end he doesn't always seem to be as competitive on this end as he is offensively. This is another trait that might suit him better to the bench sparkplug role. He certainly has the potential to develop into a useful player but it will take some time and growth.
