Another member of this draft class who actually spent several seasons in college, Brewer was a big part of several very successful teams in Gainesville along with Joakim Noah and Al Horford. If undershirt size were an attribute, Brewer would be at 100. Scouts have described him as the premiere wing defender of the draft, combining outstanding height and length with excellent footwork, quickness, and instincts. He could stand to add some strength to his slight frame, but his quickness and length can make up for deficiencies there. Expect a lot of steals and some blocks from him. He has the tools to be a good rebounder but now is only average in this regard, likely due to lack of strength.
On offense, he slotted in well as a role player along Noah and Horford, sharing the ball well like his other teammates as a surprisingly effective passer. He often made the extra pass and found open teammates for good looks despite rarely playing with the ball in his hands. He is a good finisher around the basket and in transition and did a good job creating looks off of back cuts. He can shoot the 3 if his feet are set, but likely won't become much of a catch and shoot type of guy unless he's the guy everyone forgets in the corner. His shot mechanics are still not very refined, although he showed improvement after shooting less than 60% from the line as a freshman to finish with 70% from the line in his career. He's never going to create much offense for himself as a guy who has mostly relied on athleticism to score, but you don't need a ton of that with his defensive upside.
