Just wanted to kick off the discussion early.
Here is an example of a top tier creation team:
Here are the grades of their best players: Theodoros Papaloukas PG 27 6'7'' 222 C+ C+ B- C C B Moala Tautuaa C 33 6'8'' 249 A- C+ B C B- C Bob Kurland C 35 6'10'' 220 B C C B- B- C
Obviously, this was not sustainable. Teams that went all-in on creation had initial success but quickly gave way to rookies whose TC growth propelled them to much higher grades. Whatever your take is on the creation grades (too low? too high?) they are clearly not sustainable due to training camp. While talent inflation is a thing that happens as GMs quit, TC inflation is also real. We can avoid a first decade for 7.0 where the creation players are quickly surpassed by drafted players by just making them better.
Is it possible to make creation players the same way, but also handicap incoming rookies enough to keep the Moala-type grades as the norm for a HOF player? Or is it impossible and TC will always propel players to be better than that?
Just a poll and a thread to begin discussion and decide if we want to do the same thing as before.

Maybe use existing players in 6.0 3020 or whatever year as a proxy for how good the creation draft pool ought to be.

i've never looked at grades because i don't care about grades. what i do think is useful is to look at player production, so here are how theo, antonio gates, and antoine carr did season by season in pts/tsa there's just no evidence of creation guys being at a disadvantage. theo has a downward trend but he came in the league at 27, plus it's smaller than carr's anyway. there were individual creation guys who fell off quickly like moala, but he came in the league at 33, he's supposed to fall off quickly. we also see this with the career ws/48 numbers, it's all creation guys, even guys like gates and maye who played forever, that just doesn't work arithmetically with the theory that the next classes were much better

Absolutely not. All the other grades were too high.

We should do present day for the next league…which would make Lebron and kyrie old.
