kc's BPA 3026 Quick Redraft
1. Pittsburgh Pipers - DeMarcus Cousins C 6'10'' 270 20 B, C, C- C+ A- A, Kentucky
Redraft Pick - DeMarcus Cousins C 6'10'' 270 20 B, C, C- C+ A- A, Kentucky
In my opinion the Pipers got this one right. This was a pretty good draft but none of the others really stack up to boogie here. Other than his rookie season he has maintained 10.9+ RPG, and on year 3 he started putting up 1.3+ BPG and only improved each year. He is an efficient scorer also.
2. Indiana Pacers - John Wall PG 6'3'' 210 20 B, C- A, B+ C, A, Kentucky
Redraft Pick - Solomon Alabi C 7'1'' 250 22 C+ C, C, B, B- A, Potential Florida State
This one could have went a few different ways but I think overall Alabi is the pick here. Alabi moves up from 1.16. His first two seasons looks like he was coming off the bench and they left some to be desired but in year 3 Alabi earned his starting job and started to flourish, averaging almost 2 BPG growing even more and butting up over 10 RPG over the last 9 seasons. He isn't the scorer that Cousins is but still a great big. John Wall just didn't get the Tcs or the growth he needed to be good. I never saw his scout but he wasn't the pick here.
3. Indiana Pacers (from Vancouver Grizzlies) - Paul George SF 6'8'' 220 20 C+ B, B, C+ C+ B, Fresno State
Redraft Pick - Paul George SF 6'8'' 220 20 C+ B, B, C+ C+ B, Fresno State
PG was the right pick here, you could argue that he was the right pick at 2 depending on need. Efficient scorer, rebounder, and sound D. Whats not to like? His TOs are a little high especially later in his career but we can look past that as its not totally horrible.
4. Washington Bullets - Derrick Favors C 6'9'' 265 19 B, C, C, C+ B- A, Georgia Tech
Redraft Pick - Hassan Whiteside C 7'0'' 265 21 B, D, C- B+ A- B, Marshall
Favors stays in the top 8 but he was a little early here. Whiteside moves up from 1.5. I like Whiteside more here though due to I prefer the D/R bigs and thats exactly what Whiteside is. Still One of the top Shotblockers in the league.
5. Portland Trail Blazers - Hassan Whiteside C 7'0'' 265 21 B, D, C- B+ A- B, Marshall
Redraft Pick - Xavier Henry SG 6'6'' 220 19 C+ C+ C, C+ C, A, Potential Kansas
Whiteside bumped up to pick 4. And Henry moves up from 1.7. I like Henry at this pick. He is your typical above average scoring wing with good defense.
6. Washington Bullets (from Utah Jazz) - Stanley Robinson SF 6'9'' 220 21 B+ C, C- C, C+ A, Oklahoma Special Connecticut
Redraft Pick - Dominique Jones SG 6'4'' 215 21 B- B- C, C+ C, B, Jumping South Florida
Jones originally drafted at 2.12. Didn't really get many minutes until Heebs picked him up in 3035 and man was he more than we all expected. If Ank wouldnt have walked away I think we would have seen this side of him sooner.
7. Indiana Pacers (from Cleveland Cavaliers) - Xavier Henry SG 6'6'' 220 19 C+ C+ C, C+ C, A, Potential Kansas
Redraft Pick - Daniel Orton C 6'10" 255 19 B-,C-,C-,B-,C+,A, Potential Kentucky
Orton was originally selected at 1.9 but bumps a few slots here. Not seeing much time in the first half of his career. Over the last few seasons he has proven to be a fine rotational big here putting up over 10RPG and 1.5 BPG or more.
8. Utah Jazz (from Carolina Cougars) - Al-Farouq Aminu SF 6'9'' 220 20 C+ C, C- B- A- B, Wake Forest
Redraft Pick- Derrick Favors C 6'9'' 265 19 B, C, C, C+ B- A, Georgia Tech
Favors moves down from 1.4. I think think he is a decent enough big just not enough to go 4th overall in this draft. He is a fine rotational big getting somewhere around 10 RPG and 1.5 BPGish. Nothing too special but not horrible either.
I was originally going to do a top 10 but after looking at this draft the top 8 covers the notable picks in this draft.
