Very smooth and crafty wing player. Harden used his sophomore season to add new dimensions to his game, and he proved to be a steady and consistent scoring threat. One of the most mature and NBA ready players of his class, yet there are scouts that think he can still jump another level to greatness. He has great feel and understanding of the game, knows when he has to be a facilitator and when he has to take over the scoring load, excels at getting the defensive rebound and leading the break but lack of second jump hurts him on the offensive glass. Has an unusual set of moves that are quite effective, especially at controlling the tempo as he sees fit. He doesn't rush to his spots or lose control easily, but really needs to improve decision making with his passes in the half court, just too many turnovers. His jumper has shown great improvements, he has added range as well as consistency from the outside. His strength is a great asset because he is not afraid to use his body, either on drives or when playing with his back to the basket. Has good balance and body control when finishing around the basket. His leaping ability and quickness are only marginal, as his game is much more based on skill moves to get around the court. His lack of quickness really hurts him on lateral defense... and frankly he has shown a lot of apathy toward team defense and staying involved in the play when his man doesn't have the ball... it's something to watch out for, though he does chip in a decent number of counting stats.
