Hasheem Thabeet C 7'3" 265 22 Connecticut Had Thabeet returned for his senior year, he likely would have broken the NCAA career-record for blocked shots (he left UConn 118 behind the all-time leader, Wojciech Mydra of Louisiana-Monroe.) Hasheem averaged 4.5 blocks per game as a junior, but altered about eight or nine more per contest. Has impeccable timing and athleticism for someone 7-foot-3 and he is extremely mobile for someone his size. His defensive potential is vast, given his quickness, timing, size, and hunger for blocks, but the latter often leaves him exposed on the defensive glass. His jumpshot and FT stroke improved each year at UConn, but he is still very much a work-in-progress in that regard, and he will not take threes. His scoring volume has always been low, despite being fairly efficient when he does decide to try to score, and despite being one of the worst passers scouts have ever seen, routinely recording more turnovers than assists. Serious questions about work ethic persist, and Thabeet will need to land with the right coaching staff to motivate him.
