Joe Smith PF
6'10" 245 19 Maryland An all-around defender that is stout against even the best bigs in the NCAA. Having played routinely against Wallace and Parks, Smith has shined as the ACC big to draft, based on game film, but devoting so much attention to on ball defense limits his defensive rebounding. Offensively, his repertoire is limited, but not woeful, and he is insatiable following up his own misses. He has a really sweet FT stroke that projects toward him being a great FT shooter for years to come, but doesn't take many threes at all. His glaring weaknesses are his passing ability and acumen (low) and his strength (also low). Those can be worked around through more practice and access to TMBSL weight training. If he ends up 20 pounds heavier his strength shouldn't be a problem. His lateral quickness isn't phenomenal, and will likely remain that way if he decides to bulk up after getting drafted.
