A running, jumping, dunking athletic type who has a lot of raw skill, McDyess is leaving Alabama after 2 good, but not stellar, seasons. He checks all of the measurables boxes, as he is very strong for his size, jumps out of the gym, and really hustles all over the court, resulting in impressive block numbers. Like many such bigs, he has a real problem with ball handling only slightly mitigated by not passing much. His shooting form isn't *terrible*, but to this point he's only slightly above average, and he's never attempted a 3pt shot in an official game... so I wouldn't expect him to start doing so now. His long-term outcome will likely depend on a patient GM and a creative use of his skills in the lineup.
