In only 2 years in Chapel Hill, Stackhouse didn't quite meet the expectations of being "the next MJ" that all UNC wings must face, but he acquitted himself well overall. That said, he may not excel in any one area enough to be considered a marquee player at the next level. He scores consistently from the midrange and free throw lines, spreads the ball around and keeps his teammates happy, is a strong scheme defender, and chips in some defensive counting stats. He likely needs to work the most on his three point shot, which is a recent addition to his game, but he also needs to tighten up his handle to avoid silly turnovers. Despite his young age, most scouts don't see a possible explosion in talent, understanding that his talent now puts him in the league and that GMs needn't wait on his development to recoup their investment in him. He can leap out of the gym and is already grown man strong, so his athleticism is not a big question mark, but so far he hasn't translated that to rebounds.
