I'm proposing that we increase the reward for missing the playoffs from 10,000 to 30,000 bucks. The original amount was implemented early in 5.0 and we've seen heavy inflation since then. Initially I was going to propose 50,000 as the reward, but we can start with something a tad smaller and see if it helps bad teams, even if only a little bit.
My thought is that good teams are rewarded much more than 10,000 with box score rewards, sometimes 8-9x that much for the top teams. Non-playoff teams seem to usually be hovering around the 20,000-30,000 amount for box scores. As a result, the rewards favor the strong teams and create a larger gap between the good and bad, or at least force bad teams to do more to catch up.
Bad teams need more money to scout, buy picks, include in trades, upgrade players, etc. to shrink that gap. The 30,000 reward for missing the playoffs plus their assumed 20,000-30,000 in box score rewards likely gives them at least 50,000 per season to use towards whatever they want.
