Keith Van Horn SF 6'10" 220 21 Utah
Scouts are intrigued by Keith Van Horn after he put up gaudy numbers all four of his seasons at Utah. Certainly the most impressive aspects of his game are his jump shot (90% from the line as a senior), although his mechanics make the transition to the pro three point line an open question. He's capable of scoring down low too as he was nearly a 50% shooter overall. He grabbed rebounds to the tune of nearly 9 per game and his impressive height should allow him to eventually contribute similarly at the next level. While his offensive game is impressive, Van Horn's defense leaves something to be desired. He's not a great defender in the post or on the perimeter, and doesn't utilize his impressive length as much as one might expect to block shots. He won't generate many steals and will see his fair share of turnovers, mostly due to a high dribble and not because he enjoys passing a great deal. Van Horn has the skill and size to become a great pro and the ability to grow into that role, but it will take time.
