for the record the 5.0 timeline goes like this:
odin creates 5.0, 29 teams
druce runs it from 2003-2005, ~25 teams
odin runs it into 2008, ~20 teams
i run it thereafter, our big contraction happens in 2011 to 12 teams
stays around there for a while and eventually goes up to 20

and this goes into my commissioner philosophy: i do care about having more GMs, i just think the way to get there is with consistency - consistency in sims, consistency in approach, consistency in rules. and i think the data bears out my approach overall even when it rubs a few people the wrong way now and then, and i think the ba/boomslick situation specifically bears it out even more. everyone knew ba was gone, and everyone was wrong. none of us got that right. nobody has a track record right now. everyone is on par with a coin flip. we're taking wild guesses on who stays and goes, and the exact same approach in the exact same season retained us a GM, AND we're still getting sapular in here... so what did we lose besides the hours of our lives we've spent arguing about it? where's the beef?

the divisions have to go 7 8 7 7, so it doesn't look to me like there's any better way to group them

for herb, herb asked me how scout info trades worked, i told him how they're entirely separate from completed trades
he asked me what the acceptable currency range was, i told him more than 1k
he made the trade for less than 1k, i vetoed it
four days later he made the trade for more than 1k, i processed it

i don't know what point anyone thinks herb was making, including herb, but we may as well all have the facts if we're gonna be relitigating this over and over and over and over

I just finished listening to this, it was enjoyable. I wanted to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined, you guys provided great content and it was enjoyable to listen to. It was the first time I have heard skrouse on a pod and I thought he was great.

Also, Chief was 3rd in the league in blocks, just missed the last 30 games so he fell off League Leaders. Trofie said he doesn’t have any defense.

I enjoyed listening to it. I loved the different perspectives and appreciate the support. It is all about using your common sense with certain things. At times commissioners need to make judgement calls on things.

I honestly think a lot of 5.0 GMs think the 2.0/4.0 are just trying to start drama for the sake of drama. As was mentioned multiple times in the pod that isn't the case. We all returned and love sim league. We want it to be active and strong. We are all very opinionated and have no fear of letting it known. Nobody is making suggestions so we can abuse a system or take advantage of a change. That's asinine, you have multiple GMs on the record saying they wont vote for change because they plan on abusing the system in place and it doesn't serve their personal interest.

Any whoo I really do appreciate the listens. Sure podcast are easier to do vs articles but I still put hours into booking the show, creating topics, thinking of interesting subtopics specific to guest and recording of the show. I get angry when I see 35k or 5k or anything less than 50k dropped on my pods because i've never not given it effort and tried to deliver a fun 60-120 minutes of content. And I get the frustration of others who take the low currency drop as personal.

BK and Odin discussed people leaving in a trio or foursome and it's not about that. I'm not quitting the league because a bad reward, i'll just stop doing them. I'll stop participating in articles, league discussions and maybe eventually i'll lose interest and bounce. So seriously people knock the petty bullshit. Keep the banter in shout and over the airwaves and let's give people a proper vote based on the content.
