Hello and welcome! I plan on making this a recurring article where I take the trades made in the previous sim season and grade them as well as provide commentary. I think this will make for a nice opportunity to look back at the year that was in sim and also organize the trades on a per season basis. I will not be grading trades I deem as "insignifican't" and by that I mean trading upgrade points across seasons, and buying 2nd round picks. Yes some of those 2nds could end up being hidden gems, but thats more luck than skill in my opinion. Without further adieu I bring you the first and likely most lengthy trade review from the 2000-2001 season.

The Lakers got a good haul for Peppers and the George pick and didn’t give up a whole hell of a lot. The Wolves made 2 very solid picks and got a good chuck of $ to move down. Charlotte moves the two picks the got here for Demetrius Mitchell who had a really good season but likely won’t be around long.

Getting a 1.4 is nice, but had the Sixers traded those 3 picks individually they may have gotten more. I grouped both trades together as they were essentially simultaneously agreed upon. Capel is very good, Obasohan is a wait and see once TC happens and he gets upgraded. Marzorati served his purpose but isn’t spectacular by any means. I imagine both teams are happy with what they got out of this trade.

He looks a bit like Rondo from 5.0.

He clearly isn’t contending in the near future so getting value for Peppers was ideal.

Clyde could be a future star, any time you can get a 1.1 and aren’t contending it’s going to be a good move. Well done by both.
