Kenny SmithPG6'317022North CarolinaIf Kevin Johnson is a dynamic, score-first point guard, Kenny Smith is a player more in the traditional point guard mold. He's steady with the ball in his hands and a great facilitator of the offense, though it's more of a team function than generating assists per se. He hasn't let his lack of athleticism hurt his ability to be a very good basketball player, but it does mean that his ceiling may be lower than other point guards who might get drafted early in the first round. That lack of athleticism, however, has made Smith one of the worst rebounding point guards we've ever seen. It's surprising to see him even grab three in a game and it only ever happens when the ball bounces right into his hands. He's a fundamentally sound perimeter defender, but is risk-averse and likely won't ever contend for the league lead in steals. He knows his limitations and doesn't often try to attack the basket, instead deferring to his high-scoring teammates or knocking down open mid-range and three point jumpers.
