Hello and welcome to our mock draft draft! Five mock drafts in one!
Here is how it worked. Five GMs selected a draft class between 3018 and 3027 in which they would get the first pick.
Each GM drafted in each year's mock draft to create a single team.
The original order of Ankly, 20s, Fason, Heebs, Trofie was used to allow GMs to select the year they wanted first pick in. That order was used, moving the GMs that had previously selected a draft class to the end of the draft order.
Specifically, Ankly picked the first draft class, had the first draft pick in that class, and was followed in his draft by 20s, Fason, Heebs, and Trofie.
20s was up next to select his draft class and was followed in his class by Fason, Heebs, Trofie, and last Anlkly.
Then Fason picked a class and was followed by Heebs, Trofie, Ankly, and 20s.
Then Heebs picked a class and the next GMs to select in his class were Trofie, Ankly, 20s, and Fason.
Last Trofie picked a class and the GMs that drafted after him, in order, were Trofie, Ankly, 20s, Fason, and Heebs.
Each team drafted 12 players total and normal depth chart rules applied.
Below are the mock drafts, each team’s DC, and commentary from the participants.
Enjoy!

Ankly’s rankings:
1. 20s - Got the sneaky Glyndiakis pick and I think that pushes his team over the top. Has a well-fitting group for an inside offense. Even some of the depth pieces like Robert Swift or Phil Jackson are very nice fits. Team's only weakness would probably be turnovers, but overall I do think it's the best mix of talent and fit into a cohesive team.
2. Ankly - This is mostly from having LeBron who is the best player in 6.0 to date. LeBron, Livingston, and a properly upgraded Theus (i.e. 3's/JS and not strength) should be a potent scoring trio in an outside offense. Curtis Green is also sneaky good, so I like the point guard situation. Bigs underwhelm, but they're there to rebound and defend. They can at least do that. Chris Bosh gives a bit of scoring/shooting down there as well, but for the most part it's just no-shoot D/R bigs. Bingo/Jarman not the best fit for the offense, but they're solid and the extra rebounding is nice.
3. Trofie - Barkley and Jefferson is a fantastic 1/2. Pretty steep drop to Josh Howard though. Ariza probably the better starter imo. Big man depth also pretty iffy with Hayes/Harrison. Ideally Remon De Vare is that 3rd big. Overall quite good though.
4. Heebs - I'm just not seeing the talent level. Starting sim Jordan at the 2 and having Butch Lee as a #1 option is just underwhelming for an outside offense. Peter John Ramos also very mediocre as a starter in this. Howard is one of the best D/R ever, but even he can't do it himself up front.
5. Fason - Bird is great but what draft did you pick second in? Heck, what draft did you pick third in? Team just doesn't have enough plus starters. I will say the bench is strong (Ebi and JR Smith) and also Willie White is sneaky good although he's yet to be given the starter reins on a team yet. And balanced focus? GTFO.
20s’s rankings:
1. 20s - I think I ended up with the best team. The weakness of the team would be turnovers, but I tried to address that with some of the later wing picks. Anyway, the team should be an elite inside scoring team, an elite defensive team and a strong rebounding group as well. I chose the Kareem draft because I knew someone was going to choose it and it lacked any real depth after Kareem. It fell off very quickly and I didn't want to be picking 2-5 in that draft. I took Wade 2nd on the back of his defense and well rounded game, but the turnovers were a little concern. I even forgot about Andreas myself with this pick, but snagged him with the next one. Swift is a great 3rd big and Dee is underrated at the 4th big spot. Purvis and Carmelo should be able to provide some scoring punch without turning it over and chip in on the glass. Stockton should excel at what his role would be on this squad. I think the defense is what puts my team on top.
2. trofie - I really like the Al Jefferson / Barkley combo and I think Howard is a strong enough 3rd scorer. Frazier and Cheeks are great complementary PGs for an Inside offense and the backup wings are strong. Big is a little weak depth wise, but not enough to knock them down past the 2 spot in my mind.
3. ank - I guess this high just because of LeBron, but I'm not really a huge fan of this team construction. It's kind of built with bigs you don't want to shoot, but they are running an inside offense and I'm not sure how great of a fit Livingston is for that. The backups are all fine, but no one jumps out as a major steal. Overall, I think this wasn't a great effort outside of drafting LeBron but he is so good I still put them at 3, begrudingly.
4. Fason - This was tough between the last two because I think fason's team is clearly better offensively and will struggle defensively, while the reverse is closer to true for heebs. Bird is a stud, wings 2-4 are all capable scorers with warts elsewhere, and Willie White is an underrated find at PG. I think he could flourish in the starting role. West and Rackley are good bigs but the depth is lacking sorely at big. They are being forced to play Ebi as PF2. Overall, this team is close to being much better, but the defense and lack of depth outside of wing will hold them back.
5. Heebs - Dwight Howard is really good, but I am not a huge fan of the roster they put around him. Keith Bogans was a good pick and is probably their 2nd best player. Earl Monroe should start over Jordan. They also messed up taking Jordan before guys like Alvin Robertson. The PGs are good but not elite, and I don't know who is going to do all of the scoring for an outside offense. The Jordan pick really doomed this team.
Fason’s rankings:
1. 20s - 20s easily did the best picking a team with a clear vision. Using the Kareem draft was a double bonus since the majority of the other big names on that class underwhelmed besides maybe Frazier. Getting Wade and Andreas Glyniadakis from the 03 class cemented this team as the best. I can’t be the only one that completely forgot Andreas was in this class, I should have/would have taken him over West in this draft had I remembered. The only knock on this team could be depth since it drops off a bit after the Purvis Short pick, but the top 7 is so strong it wouldn’t matter.
2. Trofie - I like Trofie’s team a lot more on second look once I realized he took Elvin Hayes. Barkley/Jefferson is a strong duo and I have always really liked Frazier because of his rebounding and defense. What does Freeman Williams have to do to start on a current DC, even with inside focus I like him better than Josh Howard. Van de Hare is underrated and was a good pick here to rebound and stay out of the way on offense.
3. Ankly - ofc Ankly got the number one pick here. I have this team third mainly out of respect for Lebron’s greatness and because Reggie Theus’ upgrades would be different, I’m sure Theus would have been a double digit win share guy if he worked on his threes rather than Olympic power lifts. While we’re fixing players on this team, Bosh’s career could have been different without the 10 being put into his post defense.
4. Heebs - I was going to penalize Heebs and place him last for one pick, Michael Jordan. We as a league need to accept that he sucks. But Keith Bogans had a great TC which cancels out the Jordan pick. Swap in 11th rounder and per 36 superstar Rick Apke for Jordan in the starting 5 and this team would look much stronger. Clemson Johnson had a good preseason and looks like a late bloomer.
5. Fason - I was between the Bird draft and Bell draft but went with Bird’s for selfish reasons. Two picks I wish I had back were West over Andreas and I would go with Frazier over Rackley because there were D/R bigs around later. Willie White’s efficiency is pretty crazy though, would love to see him start and listed as a scoring option. Iferic we’re to run a sim I have complete confidence this team would wear teams down and finish higher than fifth. Does nobody appreciate wing depth?!?!
Heebs’s rankings:
1. 20s – Doesn’t have the three best players, but has the best team construction. The big depth is outstanding and the wings are outstanding for an inside offense.
2. Ankly – 3v3 tournment and Ankly wins this hands down, but he needed to draft more than 3 good players. Still, lucking into the first slot in the mock draft draft and getting THE best player in TMBSL was typical Anklucky.
3. Heebs – I might get some flack for not putting Trofie here, but you don’t draft a C+ shown defense wing with the first pick, Trofie. Howard is the only big in this selection of teams that has a chance of shutting down Kareem, which gives Heebs a fighting change of beating 20s team.
4. Trofie – Process of elimination gives Trofie the fourth spot.
5. Fason – Fason simililary drafted a C+ shown defense wing, but without the option of playing him at SG. The rest just wasn’t great.
Trofie’s rankings:
1. 20's - I honestly think it's close at the top and there are a couple teams that could pose a threat. Kareem is terrific obviously and Wade is a solid #2. I like Swift backing up the bigs and might even start him. the defensive counting stats should be near the top with a couple of steal heavy guards. They will turn the ball over a good bit with Stockton, Kareem , and Wade. I don't love Melo but hey its your life live it how you want.
2. Trofie - Should be noted we don't have room for studs like Alvin to even make it on the DC. I know some harped on the backup Bigs but I didn't list Stuart Gray on the DC because he's unknown but after the upgrades go through he will pretty much be a clone of Al Jefferson with Higher blocking. I like Frazier at PG and he's perfect for this team. The Wings should all be high % guys in an inside offense as well. Overall I think its the 2nd best squad
3. Ankly - Lebron gets them here, I don't like the bigs at all and Theus has put up #'s on shit teams. I like Livingston a good bit I'm just not sure where the scoring is going to come from outside of Lebron James. He got stuck with the #2 pick in the draft I selected so he didn't have a ton to pick from which stings a bit . Not a horrible team , just not great.
4. Heebs - Dwight was a great pick and so was bogans and Lee. I'm lost on Jordan starting as well as PJR. I think the team is better starting Monroe at SG and Clemon at the 4. I don't love the depth of this team but I do think they should be able to score.
5. Fason - Fason did a fantasy draft is starting 3 current/former Trailblazers
