Kurt RambisPF6'8"21322Santa ClaraKurt Rambis is someone a lot of front offices might have written off already. We're talking about a big man that's only 6'8" and 213 pounds and somehow, as you can see above, still struggles to play above the rim. But we've heard some scouts say not to totally dismiss Rambis as a potential non-contributor. Despite his advanced age relative to the class, some scouts are saying Rambis might be a bit of a late bloomer who still has room to develop. He's not a particularly great athlete and won't wow you in any one department, but don't discount his hustle and craftiness. He seemingly manages to find a way to contribute across the board despite not having the athleticism or size to do it. He finds a way to score in the paint. It's never pretty, but he can do it. His shot mechanics aren't the prettiest, but he manages to hit enough shots to get defenses to respect him. He is a hustle player on the boards and gets to more than you'd expect from his size and athletic ability. That hustle carries into his defense where he is extremely crafty at poking his hands into passing lanes and around players attempting to post up to create takeaways. We're not talking about someone who is going to be a perennial All-NBA contender here, but don't discount Kurt Rambis because he could be an incredible glue guy for your franchise for a long time.
