The most decorated player in the draft class, Christian Laettner enters TMBSL with one of the prettiest jump shots you'll see among big men. He hits his free throws and knocks it down from the mid-range with consistency, though his abilities don't stretch to the three-point line. He's a capable scorer under the basket as well, where his finesse is complemented by a fantastic work ethic and a remarkable ability to get under his defender's skin and draw fouls.
As someone who had a ton of opportunities at Duke, it was no surprise that Laettner saw his fair share of turnovers. He became a bigger focal point of the offense every year, and his tendency to give the ball away followed the same trajectory. He's merely an average rebounder overall - good on the offensive glass, below average on the defensive - and while he plays positionally sound defense, he won't rack up many steals or blocks.
The tools are there for Laettner to be great at the next level. He's fundamentally sound and works as hard as anyone.
