LaPhonso EllisPF6'824022Notre DameA high-volume scorer down low for the Fighting Irish, LaPhonso Ellis shot a stupefying 63% from the field as a senior in college. There is zero doubt his already-refined post game will translate to the next level and he buttresses that with tenacity on the offensive boards and plus form from the line, although his three point game needs work. The bad with Ellis starts anywhere near the other rim. He frankly lets himself gets pushed around on defense, won't block shots, poor on the defensive glass. It's disappointing because he's quite strong and if he could just convert that into desire, he'd have a chance to be an even bigger star. As developed as Ellis' post game already is, scouts aren't really sure how much he'll grow at the next level. There are areas of his game that need work, but the fact they didn't show much improvement during college is a red flag.
