Welcome to Dirt's 3001 Bullshit Draft Grades and Stuff
I will be breaking down the inaugural 3001 TMBSL top ten draft selections. These are all opinions (before i ran the TC for the players this time) and by all means i'm not telling you this will happen. I will be simming some TCs and doing some breakdowns for the prospects that have been selected. Before i go into our prospects i want to give my opinion on some players that are already in the league. If you won an award with an A potential guy, good lord they are going to run the league for some time. This draft class is full of low end potential guys with some polish and not very many high potential guys that can become an MVP.
Grades:
A 100-80
B 79 -61
C 60 - 41
F 40-0
1. Indiana Pacers Draft Grade: A-
Clyde Drexler SF 6'7'' 210 21 B, C, B- B- B- A
I think Drexler should have been the #1 player taken. After a handful of TCs he will be the best all around player in the draft. It may take him 4-5 years to really hold his own on a Championship roster but he will have a solid 10+ year career.
I'm not a huge fan of his inside scoring and of course his 3pt shot is garbage and won't do anything. If Drexler had 10 more potential i would never have traded 1.1. I think his FG% will be OK and he will average a good amount of rebounds and assists. He should become a better steals guy after a couple years in the league. I think he has the potential to be GREAT but he could just end up being a guy.

2. Portland Trail Blazers Draft Grade B
Ralph Sampson C 7'4'' 228 22 B- C- D, B, B+ C
Sampson is an extremely well polished machine with 60 Potential. He would have been perfect for a team that is a piece or two away from a contender. He will have a short shelf life but could become a top 10 big immediately. I give Sampson a B Grade because he is what he is. I don't see him getting better throughout his career. As Drexler is becoming an all-star, Sampson will be on the down slope. His height to go alongside his post d and rebounds he will bring an immediate impact to tmbsl. In my eyes he was more of a top 5 prospect not a top 2. His blocks could be solid depending on his 1st TC because after the 1st he will be pretty maxed out. I can possibly see him cracking the top ten in blocks per game. I don't see him getting close to top 3.

3. Philadelphia 76ers - Draft Grade A-
Dale Ellis SF 6'7'' 205 22 B+ C, D- C, C+ B
Oh Dale Ellis what a dam steal for Bankz. Elite Scoring has a chance to have Bojan type scoring grades after Uppies. Bankz "Shinny" new toy might just be the next Hank Gathers. Yes he won't fill the stat sheet like Drexler but he is polished enough to be an execelent asset right away. You won't have to rely on great TCs for this prospect. Put the uppies in him and let him fly. If i would have stayed at 1.1 i believe i would have taken Dale. He is an elite scorer with about 7 rebounds per game not much else. If Drexler doesn't get help in TC Ellis will be the Gem of this class.

4. Philadelphia 76ers - Draft Grade B+
Antoine Carr PF 6'9'' 225 21 B, C, D+ B- C+ B
Carr was placed at 3 for me on my big board. Unfortunately, he will be like alot of bigs in the league and only score and not much else. I see this guy becoming an elite scorer and i think the 00 Mavs showed us blocking shots isn't everything. I think his inside and jumper will keep him in the mix as a solid young player in the league. He doesn't have the highest potential but he should be around the league for 10+ years and become a solid 2nd big for an elite roster. With the right camp and uppies the guy can be an above average rebounder. The good thing about this prospect is you have options when it comes to improvements.

5. Sacramento Kings - Draft Grade B+
Sidney Green PF 6'9'' 220 22 B+ C, D- C, C+ B
Sid-Nay is very similar to Carr. These players have a few different cats but are the same player when looking at their grades. Green's handling can be a bit scary but with his passing i think he will be ok. He has the potential to be an elite scorer and doesn't do much else. He will be an average rebounder with good inside scoring and jumper. I think i-rush sitting at 5 green was the obvious choice. I think he is one of the last bigs that can make an impact as a starter for a playoff team. If irush can uppie Green the right way and get a little bit of TC help drafted a solid big man 2 for a championship roster.

6. Charlotte Hornets - Draft Grade C+
Darrell Walker PG 6'4'' 180 22 B- C, C, C, C- B
First and foremost i hate all the PGs in this draft. I think they suck compared to what we have in the league already. I kind of feel sorry for this pick. I could be wrong and they could be a decent player but i don't see them taking a team to the playoffs..like ever. Walker has bad passing and handles and even worst perimeter d. With the potential he has he can't improve enough to be something.

7. San Antonio Spurs - Draft Grade B+
Rodney McCray SF 6'7'' 220 21 C+ C, B- B, B, B
I look at McCray and i see a Drexler light. He's going to have good defense and good rebounding with mediocre scoring. I'd put +30 uppies into Inside and pray for some good TCs. I like what he is and i think he's a great pick at 7. I think he can be a starting SG or a great six man on a championship roster. I did not expect a decent player at 7 and i think Egg could have found a solid guy here.

8. Sacramento Kings - Draft Grade C+
Derek Harper PG 6'4'' 185 21 C+ C+ A- C+ D+ B
If i had to pick a PG i would probably rate Harper #1. I think he has some good attributes that you could use in his career. Crappy scoring with a bit higher 3pt rating is not ideal. He has too many holes to be a scorer with the potential he has. If he had A potential i think he could be a solid player but he just isn't and won't be. I think your getting a starting pg but not for a championship roster. The silver lining is he has some good perimeter d and can help you that way.

9. Philadelphia 76ers - Draft Grade B
Manute Bol C 7'7'' 200 20 C, D+ D, C+ C, A
Bol is already capped at Shot Blocking and he can potentially come in and lead the league in blocked shots. He is piss poor at defense and rebouding. Like F- Like holy shit piss poor. With the right uppies i can see him becoming a solid non-scoring big but his A++ potential needs to help that. I would put all uppies into rebounding and let him grow. Has really bad inside and jumper but looks to be a solid shot blocker that needs help with defense and rebounding. With the expectations of 1.9 you can't complain about this pick. Just cross your fingers the highest pot guy improves and can be playable a few years from now. Can't jump that well soooo we will see. Cool prospect and has max potential.

10. Carolina Cougars - Draft Grade B+
Steve Stipanovich C 6'11'' 245 22 C+ C- D+ C, B- C
I like Stip alot at 10. I think he's one of the more polished guys that can help you right away. He is very similar to Sampson and fell to 1.10. Has very good scoring, excellent post D and above average rebounding. With uppies i think he can fill in a starting role for a championship roster right now. I see no problem drafting a C potential guy this late and a roster that has 2 solid players already. This could be the steal of the draft, the problem is shelf life won't be as long as others like Carr or Green. Problem of course he can't jump has poor quickness and won't steal or block shots.
