Game 4: Cougars 104, BOBCATS 101 simleague.site/TMBSL6/3000/boxes/120-11.html
Series Overview:
Heading into the final day of the season it appeared the Carolina Cougars fate had been sealed and they were headed towards a 40-42 finish on the season, tied for 8th in the conference, losing out on a tiebreaker to the Heat, and spending the playoffs at home watching on TV. Then the unthinkable happened. Cougars pulled out a squeaker on the road to the Eastern Conference Champion Charlotte Bobcats giving us a taste of the upcoming round 1 on the TMBSL Playoffs. Just two games returned from a lengthy injury, center Chief Kickingstallionsims looks to exploit the Bobcats only minor weakness. If the Cougars are to stand any chance he'll need help from SG Jon Diebler and PG Marques Haynes who also played very well line season finale. With the Eastern Conference one seed all but sewn up, the Charlotte Bobcats appeared to head into the final 10 days of the season on cruise control switching their focus from the grind of the regular season to the hopeful pursuit of TMBSL Larry O'Brien Trophy. As for most the season, the Bobcats will lean heavily on their three all-pro second teamers, PG Demetrius Mitchell, SG James Blackmon and SF Wayne Estes. All eyes will be down low on Muldrow, James and Lambert as they must find a way to keep the Chief in check. If the regular season is any indication, the Bobcats may drop a game but should easily control the series and advance to the next round.
Prediction: Bobcats win 4-1

Game 4: Raptors 91, PACERS 84 simleague.site/TMBSL6/3000/boxes/109-4.html
Series Overview:
Early on the Indiana Pacers appeared to be a team in the thick of the hunt and one or two moves away from being considered a title contender. Perhaps seeing the writing on the wall, GM Heebs moved SG Drazen Dalipagic in a package for the first pick in the draft, throwing up the proverbial white flag that all but marked the end of the season for Indiana. Courteous of a hot start, the Pacers still managed to limp into the playoffs where they face up against the division winner Toronto Raptors. On paper, the Raptors don't appear to be one of the top 3 teams in the league but the combination of well above average role players in center Walter Magnificio and small forward Da'Sean Butler mixed with scorer Luke Recker, and MVP candidate point guard Sergei Belov have created the right mix of chemistry to propel Toronto to the tops of the standings. They finished the regular season 4-0 against the Pacers and there's no indication of Indiana putting up much fight in this first round series.
Prediction: Raptors win 4-0

Game 1: MAGIC 109, Knicks 102 simleague.site/TMBSL6/3000/boxes/32-5.html
Game 2: MAGIC 129, Knicks 105 simleague.site/TMBSL6/3000/boxes/75-2.html
Game 3: Magic 133, KNICKS 111 simleague.site/TMBSL6/3000/boxes/117-3.html
Series Overview:
It's no secret that if the New York Knicks are able to succeed at all, it will have to come at the hands of best player in the league Bojan Dubljevic. Media from all over the country along with the Knicks faithful were disappointed and astonished when GM Ankyl failed to pull off any moves during the season to keep up with what some of the other top teams in the east were doing. Kenny George provides a nice 1-2 twin tower punch down low, but outside of that the roster is a mess. The Knicks went 0-3 against the Magic during the regular season, although it's worth nothing that Bojan was injured for one and half of those games. On the other end of this matchup you have a GM in Skrouse who saw that he was a little short of being able to make a serious push and decided to do something about it. The season was going pretty good behind strong performances from point guard Ed Cota, shooting guard Oscar Schmidt and sensational rookie small forward Doug Wrenn but pretty good wasn't cutting it for the long time GM. Late in the season the Magic were able to make moves for wings Josh Peppers and newly crowned defensive player of the year Dino Meneghin vaulting them into the position of serious title contention. As evident in their third game on day 117 against the Knicks, it appears the Magic have too much talent for New York to over come.
Prediction: Magic win 4-2

Game 1: Bullets 97, HAWKS 95 simleague.site/TMBSL6/3000/boxes/16-6.html
Game 2: Hawks 111, BULLETS 108 simleague.site/TMBSL6/3000/boxes/51-7.html
Game 3: BULLETS 105, Hawks 98 simleague.site/TMBSL6/3000/boxes/62-5.html
Series Overview:
This in my opinion should be the most exciting of the first round matchups in the east. Three in season games decided by an average of four points. The Washington Bullets made arguably the biggest splash of the season when they moved the first pick in the upcoming draft for superstar wing Hank Gathers. Paired with center Lloyd Sharrar this gave Yawn and the Bullets the best 1-2 punch in the league. Even with a finishing record of 56-26, it seems Washington didn't quite take the next step up as expected. Somehow, someway, JHB was able to turn this roster of misfits into a respectable team ending the season at 55-27, good enough for 5th seed in the east. The Atlanta Hawks have their own dynamic duo in power forward Devin Williams and small forward Le'Bryan Nash. The Hawks depend on a 4-man rotation in the front court where they hope this will be enough to separate themselves for the close matched Warriors. This series will be a battle and I expect it to go the distance.
Prediction: Bullets win 4-3

Game 3: BOBCATS 139, Bullets 112 simleague.site/TMBSL6/3000/boxes/77-3.html
Series Overview:
After a hard-nosed series match up with the Hawks, the Washington Bullets find themselves up against the juggernaut Bobcats. Much like the Knicks in the first round, for the Bullets to find a way to win this series, all eggs must be placed in the Lloyd Sharrar basket in hopes that he can control the series from the front court position. If the regular season is any indication, it doesn't appear that it will be enough. Bobcats, like against most opponents, will have too much offense to handle and expect to make early waste to the fightin' Yawns. The Hank Gathers/Wayne Estes matchup is worth the price of admission alone, although whomever wins that matchup will ultimately have little say so over who wins the series.
Prediction: Bobcats win 4-1

Game 4: MAGIC 99, Raptors 92 simleague.site/TMBSL6/3000/boxes/110-1.html
Series Overview:
Division foes face off in what is destined to be an instant classic. The Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic split the season series at 2-2 with the Raptors taking the first two series games and Magic returning the favor later in the season. It's worth nothing that the first two matchups of the season series was before the Magic traded for wing Josh Peppers and center Dino Meneghin. On paper Orlando looks to have the slight edge in this series, but you never want to count out a player like point guard Sergei Belov. He must capitalize on his matchup against rookie point guard Ed Cota and open up shots not only for himself but sharpshooter Luke Recker. Meneghin and Walter Magnifico down low should be a fun battle to watch. Two crafty defensive veterans looking to be the edge up for their team. This one could come down to the coaches and changes made throughout the series.
Prediction: Magic win 4-3

Game 4: BOBCATS 125, Magic 121 simleague.site/TMBSL6/3000/boxes/65-5.html
Series Overview:
Take every thing about the regular season matchups and throw it out because all four games took place before the Orlando Magic acquired Peppers and Dino. Can the three superstar lineup beat the five very good players lineup? That will be the storyline of this series. It's no secret that the Bobcats will want to score and have done so this season as the second leading team scoring in the league. Not far behind are the Magic who hoist the fourth highest points per game this season. So, in what should come down to a high scoring series, it will be interesting to see how foul situation, injuries, turnovers ultimately decide the outcome of this near even matchup. Both teams deserve to represent their conference in the finals but unfortunately only one team can advance.
Prediction: Magic win 4-3
