LaMarcus AldridgePF6'1125021TexasWidely considered the top big man prospect in college basketball, LaMarcus Aldridge possesses an extremely smooth post game with excellent touch from anywhere within 12 feet of the basket. His footwork and fundamentals are incredibly refined for someone of his age and there is little doubt he'll be a capable inside scorer at the next level. He also shows excellent mechanics on his jump shot and scouts expect him to consistently hit out to 18 feet at the next level, though he didn't show it from college as he surprisingly struggled a bit from line. He's a decent ball handler with soft hands but he rarely passes, averaging less than 1 assist per game in college. He's a versatile player whose above average leaping ability and long arms allow him to corral offensive rebounds and block a few shots. While he added 15-20 pounds of muscle between his freshman and sophomore seasons, scouts still aren't he'll be strong enough to hold up at the next level. His defensive rebounding doesn't match his ability on the offensive glass and scouts worry that he's a bit soft to become a dominant player at the next level, despite possessing all of the ability he would need to do so. As such, reviews on his growth potential are mixed among those who evaluate him.
