A truly fascinating point guard prospect, Rajon Rondo is an excellent athlete whose speed allows him to get to the basket at will. He's an incredibly creative player with excellent ball-handling skills who gets his teammates involved in a variety of ways. Scouts expect that he'll contend for the league lead in assists throughout his career and should rank as one of the better rebounding point guards in the league as well.
The knocks on Rondo stem from his shooting ability. While he can finish in transition, his lack of a jump shot often gets hung up in no man's land, leading to forced passes and turnovers. He's terrible from the line and made under 60% of his free throws in college. He's also awful from beyond the arc, hitting only 28% of his threes in his two years at Kentucky. He generates steals at a high clip, but his defense on the perimeter leaves something to be desired as he can get out of control at times in order to pursue the spectacular play.
