Al-Farouq AminuSF6'822020Wake ForestA terrific athlete, Al-Farouq Aminu became one of the focal points of Georgia Tech's offense after the offseason departure of a couple of veterans. His athleticism - strength, jumping, and quickness - should allow him to develop into one of the league's best wing defenders. During his final college season, he averaged 1.4 blocks and 1.4 steals and showed the ability to guard power forwards, small forwards, and shooting guards. His elite athleticism makes him a great rebounder on both ends of the floor as he cleans up his teammates' misses and prevents opponents from getting second-chance opportunities. Offensively, Aminu demonstrates good form on his jump shot, but it hasn't translated to success from the mid-range. He's a very poor three-point shooter and has been overly-reliant on his athleticism and putbacks for scoring inside as he doesn't possess a refined game within the paint. He doesn't try to create many chances for his teammates but still turns the ball over a fair amount because he's a bit awkward trying to take his man off the dribble. Aminu's athleticism should point to elite upside, but his inability to develop much of a game offensively makes scouts wonder how high his ceiling is.
