Paul GeorgeSF6'822020Fresno StateIn two seasons at Fresno State, Paul George proved himself to be a balanced player capable of contributing wherever his team needed him to on a given night. GMs may be most attracted to his ability to shoot from outside as he knocked down almost 40% of his threes in college. He showed massive improvement from the line between years one and two, shooting just under 70% as a freshman and upping that to over 90% as a sophomore. Scouts also love George's ability to set his teammates up and believe he should eventually develop into one of the league's better passing forwards. The biggest knock on George offensively is his inability to create for himself. He's shown a preference for settling for the mid-range jumper rather than attacking the basket, or preferring to find teammates rather than attack inside. Defensively, George racks up the counting stats, averaging over 2 steals and nearly a block per game as a sophomore. However, he loses focus at times and may not be as great of a defender as the box scores might indicate. Shying away from the basket means George likely never becomes a double-double machine, though he is very strong on the defensive boards. Scouts love the areas of George's game that are refined already - shooting and passing, namely - and believe that he could make a few all-star teams if he learns to attack the basket.
