Hassan WhitesideC7'026521Hassan Whiteside enters TMBSL after one season at Marshall where he averaged an extraordinary 5.4 blocks per game (8.2 per 40 minutes!!!). His ability to protect the rim will always be Whiteside's calling card, though he's an excellent rebounder as well, particularly on the defensive end. Offensively, the big man is a major work in progress. He hasn't shown much by way of developed post moves, has zero range to speak of, is a disaster from the line, and turns it over more frequently than you'd like for someone who isn't featured on that end of the floor. Other than that he should be fine! An excellent athlete who runs like a deer and can jump out of the gym, there's an outside chance that Whiteside could develop a semblance of an offensive game and become a more balanced player, but it's unlikely that portion of his game ever matches what he provides on defense. Despite being older than most other freshman, scouts agree that there's still some potential for Whiteside due to his natural athleticism and passion for the game.
