Michael "Air" Jordan comes into TMBSL just after leading the 3024 Summer Olympic team to gold in Tulsa. Olympic coach/kilogenarian Bob Knight's head in a jar said that Jordan was the best player he had ever coached. With such lofty expectations there is major pressure for Jordan to perform in the upcoming college season. But this young man has been known to rise to the occasion.
Offensive Skills
On the offensive end, Jordan generally operates from 18 feet and in. He has uncanny ability as an inside scorer for a 2-guard. Some of his slashes to the rim border on artistry, and his back-to-the-basket game is extremely polished for his age. His jump shot is TMBSL-ready as well as Jordan has a silky smooth mid-range jumper with a FT% hovering around 80%. The 3-point line only existed for Jordan in his Sophomore season of college. He dabbled with the 3-point shot and had some success, but it remains much less developed than his inside scoring and jumpshot, and it's not clear he'll ever make it a part of his prodigious arsenal.
A more than willing passer, Jordan will see his share of turnovers as well, especially if given free rein to have the ball in his hands as much as he wants.
Jordan is an above average offensive-rebounder for a guard as he enjoys hunting follow-up slams.
Defensive Skills
Defensively, Jordan is most focused on making splash plays that can lead to fast breaks (where he excels). Those instincts coupled with his physical gifts mean Jordan generates a historic number of steals. He generates more blocks than the average SG although he is not an all time outlier here like Dwyane Wade.
Outside of the highlight reel Jordan is decent in the post but frankly doesn't put enough effort in off the ball.
Jordan is an average to slightly below-average defensive rebounder as he prefers to leak out for transition opportunities.
Athleticism
Jordan is one of the most explosive athletes to grace the hardwood of all time. His quickness and jumping abilities are the stuff of legends. He is however going to get pushed around his first few years in the pros at least, he has the frame to add muscle but it will take time, and no one knows whether the pistons in his heart will provide enough motivation.
Potential
While no one denies Jordan is destined for great things, scouts disagree when it comes to his future growth. Some scouts see immense potential in Jordan whereas others see him as a player who is already polished and may not grow significantly. The truth probably falls somewhere in the middle.
