Speed is the name of the game for Alvin Robertson. He's a blur in the open court, racing for easy transition buckets and looking for every opportunity to get out on the break. He's capable of driving past any opponent who tries to stay with him on the perimeter, although he really needs to tighten his handle at the next level. His quickness allows him to beat the rotations and drive in for easy layups, which is good because his jump shot needs some work. He's around a 66% FT shooter for his career, and would much rather take his chances driving into the paint for a layup or kickout than taking a jumper himself. Loves to pass but should not be counted on to run the offense. He's got great leaping ability to go with his speed and is stronger than his frame might suggest. Alvin's offensive game is unrefined, but he has really made a name for himself as a lockdown perimeter defender. He's got the quickness to stay with anyone on the outside, and he generates steals at an unprecedented rate thanks to his lightning-quick hands. If he earned enough minutes, he could lead the league in steals from day 1. No one will mistake him for a big if they meet him in the paint, but he can at least get himself in good defensive positioning and force a pass because opponents respect his ability to swipe the ball so much. While he's not often in position for rebounds due to his perimeter focus, his skills are above average there.
