Joe Dirt sits down at the podium no longer sitting in front of the LAC back drop. He slowly moves his chair closer to the microphone and audibly takes a deep breathe.
"Fans, coaches, reporters and all you Clippers supporters throughout the World, I want to thank you for the memories. I sit here ashamed that i have not accomplished what i had hoped to do here. I've come to realize after 20 long years that I've wasted my time and more importantly yours. I wish I could have done more but when the dust settled it was a catastrophic failure. I know the fans have been frustrated the past 5 years and I've allowed outside worries to cloud my judgement. At this moment i think it's time i step away from Los Angeles. You have endured enough pain at my hands. With my final act you will all rejoice or maybe the hate will run deeper throughout the loyal supporters of the Los Angeles Clippers. I tell you with sadness, that i will be stepping down as the GM for the Los Angeles Clippers. It was a tough decision, but after conversing with my supporters and owners of the team, we have determined the best path for me is to move the team back to my hometown. After several meetings with the ex-owner of the franchise and receiving their blessing, we have decided to pull the trigger and move to Dallas, TX. We will keep the mascot name and colors and hope to continue the legacy of Soup and the Dallas Mavericks. I hope going back South and being surrounded by family, I will have the proper motivations to get back on track. I once again admit i was a lousy GM here and the mistakes i made weakened the team. i hope for your forgiveness but i understand if it will not be given. I wish nothing but the Los Angeles people to thrive and continue to support the Championship caliber franchise that is already here.
Thanks again for opening your hearts to me throughout 2.0,3.0,4.0 and 6.0. I will miss you all and you will always have a place in my heart".
Joe slowly moves his chair back from the screaming reporters, asking questions he knows he may have to answer eventually, but not today. He takes one final look at the friends he knew in the media, wipes a tear from his eye, and slowly opens the door and walks out. He leaves the cameras and the mass of media behind thinking to himself, Lebron will be my ticket, I've always looked better in green and blue.
