I would not be arguing for immediate removal, but I do want to come up with a minimum requirement that we all agree to. My next question, we come up with the standards for an active GM, when can we start enforcing them? We provide the rule to the entire league ASAP and I personally think it would/should be applied starting next season. if we can nail it down before playoffs i think that would be a reasonable time frame with long draft this year, any later and that's too short a turnaround imo
Set at least least 1 DC a year Make your draft picks Fill your roster
Be online at least every 4 days
*unless you post an absentee thread with a definite duration

Do we really need a minimum requirement? Can’t we just use the eyeball test to tell who’s active and who’s not? This isn’t rocket science. And if it was, good thing we have Chap here.

so this is a point i've been meaning to ask, bk is just the last one to post it: is being online in and of itself a goal we're looking for? i like having a "hopping" shout as much as the next human but i recognize it's not for everyone, and aside from that there's not much going on that really requires a GM to be on the board after sim 1. for getting in touch with people for trade offers etc. we have phone numbers put another way, is there a specific thing that a GM can only do on the board that we're looking to ensure? |

yeah i dont see a need for someone to be on the board everyday or in shout. if they set a dc and make picks but arent interested in the toxicity that is shout we shouldnt force them into it.

I dont think anyone in the league right now is honestly advocating that we fire any GM right now. I'm pretty indifferent overall but there is currently a poll entitled "Should BA and Boomslick be fired immediately" exchange of the year so far |

another point that occurred to me today re "filling rosters"
i have to fill rosters on sim 1 to sim anyway, which is critically distinct from setting a DC and making draft picks since they can be done in much broader time scales. how are people envisioning that working out?
1. do we start waiting for people to fill rosters, delaying sim 1?
2. do we fire people if they don't have a full roster at sim 1 deadline? on the spot?
3. can they satisfy the requirement by coming back, cutting the players i added, signing their own?

i think the firing system is fine but the hiring system could use work. instead of first come first serve there should be a poll posted with all waitlist members as options then have the league vote on who gets the vacancy.
