Old Dominion Kenny Gattison proves that bigger isn’t always better, as he thundered his way to the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year award. An extremely efficient scorer inside the paint (shooting 66% inside the paint), Kenny Gattison makes it look easy. However, he struggles to score from farther, with only a paltry 60% shot from the line and no perimeter shooting skills to speak of, and he looked very vulnerable to turnovers when going against better competition.
Defensively, Kenny has a lot of room for growth. He’s not particularly adept at causing turnovers or blocking shots. Though he is respectable defending the post, his size can get in the way and cause him to get bullied around. His rebounding is respectable for his size, though he is much better at following up his own shot than at positioning himself correctly to grab the defensive board. He is extremely strong but not very explosive. There are some mechanics issues that can be fixed but Gattison's height is unlikely to change, leaving scouts mixed on his future growth potential.
