Welcome back to the 3rd annual kc’s FAP. This year we are working on expanding our evaluations for your enjoyment. In our evaluations the players are placed in tiers in no specific order under them, and these tiers are based on the players in this class alone. Meaning the tier 1 bigs aren’t necessarily Myles Turner type of tier 1. With that all being said let's dive into this year's class.
Tier 1
- Markelle Fultz - PG, Age 22, Current Team - Cleveland Cavaliers
82 38.5 22.6 5.5 13.5 1.6 0.2 2.1 .486 .919 .401
Fultz is coming out of his rookie deal. He has improved each of his 4 seasons. I know the Cavs switched to an outside offense but I would love to see Fultz in an outside offense where he isn’t the centerpoint piece. In my opinion he is by far the best point guard in this free agency class.
- Jayson Tatum - SF, Age 22, Current Team - Los Angeles Clippers
35.3 26.0 6.9 3.9 0.7 0.1 1.4 .526 .869 .385
Tatum is also coming off this rookie deal. Tatum isn’t the best defensive or rebounding wing but he is an efficient scorer. I think Tatum is a player that could fit well on any roster in sim league and we expect to see him continue being a key offensive piece to any team he lands on.
- Thomas Bryant - C, Age 23, Current Team - Indiana Pacers
82 31.9 14.3 9.9 2.0 1.3 1.7 1.3 .512 .683 .353
Here we have Bryant, another player coming off his rookie deal. After seeing no action in his first season in the league with the Bobcats he has proven to be a strong big in Indiana. He isn’t among the ranks of Myles Turner but Bryant is a nice big. Could be a great 2nd or 3rd big on a team that has a superstar big already. He still has a B shown potential so hopefully he will get some more growth. Overall he is one of the better bigs in this FA class.
- Ike Anigbogu - C, Age 22, Current Team - Carolina Cougars
82 31.0 14.9 10.6 1.6 1.0 2.0 0.9 .508 .728 .217
Ike is young, he scores, he rebounds, he blocks, and he doesn’t turn the ball over. What isn’t to like about him? Another expiring rookie deal and without a doubt his agent’s phone will be getting multiple calls.
Tier 2
- Matt Barnes - SF, Age 30, Current Team - Vancouver Grizzlies
78 36.9 18.5 7.9 2.9 1.2 0.5 3.1 .467 .655 .337
Barnes is on the downward spiral of his career but he is still putting together a good enough stat line minus his turnovers which are the most this season of his career. I still think he could be a beneficial piece on a roster.
- Cedric Ceballos - SF, Age 30, Current Team - Toronto Raptors
75 34.2 18.3 7.3 1.5 1.2 0.3 1.9 .511 .788 .365
Ceballos is in the same realm as Barnes but without the turnovers. Still a good player to have in your rotation.
- Kevin Love - PF, Age 32, Current Team - Chicago Stags
82 30.9 29.0 8.2 4.6 0.5 0.6 2.1 .504 .834 .415
Love is on a roster with not much help. His defense sucks but he’s still scoring efficiently. Enough to land him on 1st Team All League. Let’s see how much more he has in the tank.
- Jerami Grant - PF, Age 30, Current Team - Texas Chaparrals
82 28.7 15.4 9.3 1.1 0.6 0.9 1.4 .538 .725 .250
Grant is a solid 4. He scores well, and rebounds pretty well also. He isn’t the most defensive big out there but does enough to not hurt you when he’s on the court. He will fit well into an established roster.
- Alpha Kaba - C, Age 24, Current Team - Washington Bullets
82 32.4 24.9 8.8 1.5 0.8 0.7 2.2 .537 .741 .333
Kaba is a solid big that plays now in a pretty good rotation of bigs in Washington. He isn’t a demon on the defensive side but he does score well. Kaba will be a pretty solid player wherever he lands.
- Joel Przybilla - C, Age 21, Current Team - Milwaukee Bucks
82 29.3 15.5 9.0 2.5 0.8 0.5 1.6 .503 .787 .200
Joel is a scoring and pretty decent rebounder. He isn’t so great on the defensive side of the court but not the absolute worst. Having only been in the league for 2 seasons and a 2nd round pick he is still able to be mentored. Maybe with a good mentor and a little TC love he could bump up to the next level.
- Clint Capela - C, Age 30, Current Team - Washington Bullets
82 21.6 11.3 5.9 2.1 0.8 1.9 1.2 .537 .640 .000
Another Washington big, a part of a well rounded big rotation. Capela is the most defensive big coming out of Washington this year however he is not a strong rebounder.
- Nikola Jokic - C, Age 29, Current Team - Texas Chaparrals
28.4 13.8 8.5 2.8 0.7 1.3 1.6 .467 .789 .200
Jokic is another pretty decent big coming up available in this years Free Agency. Nothing too crazy but he is a solid player to become a 2nd/3rd big on your roster.
- Andray Blatche - C, Age 33, Current Team - Seattle SuperSonics
71 31.9 16.5 10.5 1.2 1.2 1.2 1.5 .499 .792 .000
Blatche rolling in the arguably best big rotation in the league alongside Dwight and Al. Blatche at 33 still holds his own on the court. When will this man retire???
Tier 3
- Mike Smrek - C, Age 30, Current Team - Anaheim Amigos
82 26.7 13.7 6.0 1.2 0.7 1.5 1.0 .566 .773 .000
Smrek doesn’t put out a crazy stat line but he does score decently for defensive big that gets blocks. He would work best as a 3rd big in a solid rotation.
- Mike Dunleavy Jr. - SF, Age 30, Current Team - Carolina Cougars
80 31.7 12.8 7.7 1.1 1.0 0.4 1.0 .459 .756 .391
Dunleavy isn’t what he was in his younger years but still a good enough wing to find a home on a roster and provide some value.
- Paul Pressey - SG, Age 29, Current Team - Atlanta Hawks
82 35.0 19.1 5.3 3.7 1.9 0.3 1.1 .476 .898 .432
Paul is an interesting SG to me. He is efficient as he stands now but I wouldn’t mind seeing what he could do on a little bit more of a well rounded roster. I also think he could possibly see an increase on his results with his upgrades and camp reset.
- Xavier McDaniel - SF, Age 29, Current Team - Utah Jazz
80 27.9 13.2 8.1 0.9 0.7 0.3 1.5 .506 .688 .000
McDaniel is a solid inside wing that could work in a rotation with some a couple other stronger wings.
Tier - Feel Like Taking a Gamble?
- Anzejs Pasecniks - C, Age 27, Current Team - Chicago Bulls
44 10.7 3.4 2.9 0.8 0.3 0.5 0.6 .428 .653 .000
Another player with not much real playing time. Anzejs has all of his upgrades and camp available. I think with the right upgrades this player could be a good 3rd big.
- Speedy Claxton - PG, Age 23, Current Team - Pittsburgh Pipers
Speedy hasn’t really gotten any playing time but has all of his upgrades and camp available. Who knows, take a gamble and upgrade him and let’s see what happens!
- Frank Ntilikina - PG, Age 23, Current Team - Vancouver Grizzlies
Frank hasn’t really seen much playing time until this season. He doesn’t like to shoot much but he was running in an inside offense until the last couple sims. He does turn the ball over a little bit. However, he does still have 20 of his uppies and camp available. He has a great FT% so I’m assuming his jumpshot is decent so who know what could happen with some 3pt love.
- Malik Monk - SG, Age 22, Current Team - Cleveland Cavaliers
Monk is one that i'm not so confident on. But I think possibly with a upgrade and camp reset he could be a beneficial bench wing on the right roster for a cheap price.
- Janis Timma - SF, Age 23, Current Team - Houston Rockets
Timma has 20 uppies and camp available. Hasn’t really gotten much notable playing time but with some uppies I think he could be a decent bench player.
- Demarr Johnson - SF, Age 21, Current Team - Seattle SuperSonics
82 24.4 11.1 6.1 2.1 0.7 0.2 1.0 .514 .807 .207
Demarr has been playing the PF position this season with Seattle and I could be wrong as I am now jumping more into sim than I have before. But, I think he could put up a stronger stat line by being playing in the wing position. May be wrong but has me wondering so that’s why he is in this list. (Note; I could be wrong on this all together because i see on the DCs he’s in at Sf but on Winshares he’s showing up on PF - Let me know where i'm wrong on this please)
