Centers:
1. Lloyd Sharrar C 6'10'' 215 22 B C- F+ C A- A Bullets
Centers are by far the deepest position entering the inaugural 6.0 Free Agency season and Lloyd claims the spot at #1. A combination of young age, A true potential and already established super star stats puts Mr. Sharrar in rare company as far as expiring creation contracts go, many of which have either questionable potential, aren't good enough or too old to warrant a long term max deal. At only 22 years old and already putting up close to 30 points a game and a top rebounder in the league, whoever snags Lloyd can use his remaining upgrade points to shore up either his handles (3.2 TOs per 36) or his shot blocking and let TC take care of the rest.
Projected FA value: 6 year max
2. Chief Kickingstallionsims C 7'1'' 265 26 B- C- D+ C+ C+ B Cougars
Possibly the best name of any player to have ever graced sim league, the Chief is the lone bright spot on an otherwise somewhat disappointing Cougars squad. With still 20 upgrade points available to him and relatively high potential, Chief can still fix the biggest glaring weakness in his game, his atrocious handles, which sits at a vomit inducing 4.6 turnovers per 36. However, unlike Lloyd, Chief's shot blocking needs no further improvements from however signs him in FA as it is already likely well past the upgrade cap. If through either upgrades or TC, Chief can get his TOs under control, he would be well worth the full max in free agency.
Projected FA value: 6 year max
3. Ian Vouyoukas C 6'11'' 280 34 A- D+ D+ C- C D Clippers
A key piece to the Clippers hopeful title contention run in the inaugural season, the Greek Ian has perhaps the most tricky contract situation facing their current team. At 34 years old and sporting only a D potential, a long term deal isn't ideal, and as a 2nd round creation pick, his 10 mil per year contract nullifies any creative cap management situation where dirt can pay him a short term 2 year contract well above the market max value. Though however grim his long term outlook may be, Vouyoukas should still remain a star in the league for the next few seasons and may very well be the difference in deciding the first championship of 6.0
Projected FA value: 3 year max
4. Sam Muldrow C 6'9'' 229 34 C D+ D C+ C D Bobcats
The first true d/r big to enter the free agency market and could set the standard for the market of defensive spending for years to come in 6.0. Sam Muldrow sports one of the best stock/bleal numbers in the entire league at a massive 3.5 per 36 and takes so few shots that defined the 4.0 d/r meta.
Projected FA value: 3 years 10 mil per year
5. Dino Meneghin C 6'9'' 243 35 C+ D+ D+ B A- F Kings
Your resident decrepit old man and our first F potential of the FA rankings, Dino has been rumored to be on the trading block for a while but it seems like no one was willing to pay the asking price for a 35 year old with potential likely in the below 40s territory. Meneghin's turnovers are also a big concern, especially since he's already playing alongside a player that's equally loose with ball security, but free agency at the start of a creation season is always slim after the first few elite guys and someone with cap space will likely throw a decent contract at a big man that's putting up 20/10 with good defensive stats.
Projected FA value: 2 years 8 mil per year
Power Forwards:
1. Tyreese Breshers PF 6'7'' 255 23 C+ C- D C- C A Pipers
Tyreese is by far the best potential FA power foward on the market and the only one worth a max consideration. At 0.1 blocks per game, his shot blocking is probably a lost cause but with true A potential and no turnover issues, whoever signs Breshers will be able to fully max out his offensive prowess via either getting his jump shot high enough to shoot FTs in the 80% range or dump all 30 points into his inside scoring.
Projected FA value: 6 year max
2. Casey Calvary PF 6'8'' 235 22 B- C- D+ D+ C D Pelicans
Power fowards compared to their center counter parts offer next to nothing in terms of both depth and star power. Like the irl Pelicans, players on the sim Pelicans seem relegated to minor league status as they're GM'd by one of the league's least active owners. Being the leading scorer of the worst team in the league and still not even breaking 20 ppg is nothing to write home about, but Casey is at least still young and has all of his upgrades available to him, his efficiency doesn't look terrible and he has no turnover issues, I could see him being worth a decent sized contract as a contender's 3rd or 4th best player.
Projected FA value: 4 year 10 mil per year
3. Austin Seferian-Jenkins PF 6'6'' 260 24 C+ D+ D+ C- C C Chaparrals
Pretty much a poor man's version of Casey Calvary in every sense of the word besides potential. ASJ is shorter, older, has worse offensive efficiency and turns the ball over more than Casey with the only saving grace being that C potential as opposed to D. I could see ASJ getting anywhere from a 3-4 year deal or simply a MLE, the PF market in the creation season is pretty shallow.
Projected FA value: 4 years 7 mil per year
4. Deon Thompson PF 6'8'' 280 21 B- C- D D C D Trailblazers
The last potential FA power forward that looks remotely interesting, Deon Thompson will be the target of 20+ MLE offers in free agency and that will be the last of anyone talking about Deon Thompson during the season until he hits the market again and his agent fields more 1 year 4.5 mil offers for Mr. Thompson to sift through in 3002.
Projected FA value: MLE
Small Forwards:
1. Wayne Estes SF 6'6'' 215 22 A- C D+ C- A- A Bobcats
The cream of the creation season free agency crop. Wayne Estes should get a max offer from every team that has cap space. As a SG eligible wing, Estes not only scores at an absolutely elite level but is pulling a ridiculous 12 rebounds. While he has no more upgrades available to him to potentially fix his TOs, Wayne is only 22 years old and has A potential so we could reasonably assume his peak is still a few years away. Whoever signs Estes in free agency will have a top 5 player on their hands for the next full 6 years of his contract and likely see him only getting better every single year of his deal.
Projected FA value: 6 year max
2. Kevin A. Martin SF 6'5'' 185 23 C+ C D+ D C- D Trail Blazers
A massive drop off from Wayne Estes at the #2 spot, Kevin "turned down 'A' first round pick" Martin is an intriguing player that has absolutely elite efficiency, currently posting an entire higher pts/tsa than Wayne Estes as of the writing of this article. Though he won't command the market attention that Estes will, Martin could be a key piece as depth for a title contender should one manages to sign him to a MLE this offseason.
Projected FA value: 4 years 5 mil per year
3. DeLon Turner SF 6'5'' 220 29 C C D+ C- C D Knicks
With all eyes on Bojan in the Big Apple, DeLon, much like Kevin Martin is carving out a nice season for himself. Currently making only a minimum contract, Turner's scoring efficiency is anything but. At 1.145 pts/tsa, he scores the basketball at just a hair higher efficiency than Phoenix Suns superstar Luke Maye and Orlando Magic's star shooting guard Oscar Schmidt, Much like Martin, Turner won't command much day 1 attention from teams with max cap space but look for him to be fielding multiple MLE offers as we roll into the latter portion of FA.
Projected FA value: MLE
Shooting Guards:
1. William Buford SG 6'5'' 215 23 B- B- C C+ C B Pelicans
Likely the best player in the league that no one has heard of, due to playing for the aforementioned absentee GM of the Pelicans. William Buford is a first round creation pick that isn't even playing starting minutes for whatever reason on one of if not the worst team in the league. Should someone other than boomslick manages to snag Buford in FA, I would like to see what Buford can do as a primary scoring option after getting his upgrades and playing in a proper DC setting.
Projected FA value: 6 year max
2. Bootsy Thornton SG 6'4'' 195 29 C B- C- B D- C 76ers
2. Bootsy Thornton SG 6'4'' 195 29 C B- C- B D- C 76ers
A volume scoring wing that steals the ball at an elite clip, Bootsy's main issues are his efficiency, and perhaps being a slight turnover prone. With all 30 upgrade points available, Thornton should be able to reach the inside cap (if not already there) for a shooting guard and still have leftovers to add to his jump shot. At 29 years old, Bootsy could very well be paid a longer term deal than the 4 years I'm projecting him at.
Projected FA value: 4 years 10 mil per year
3. David Pendergraft SG 6'6'' 220 26 C+ C D+ D+ C- C Nets
3. David Pendergraft SG 6'6'' 220 26 C+ C D+ D+ C- C Nets
Value drops off a cliff at the bronze medal podium for the 2 guard. Pendergraft offers nothing special other than being a SG that has been proven to be able to score over 10 ppg, which might be enough to warrant a MLE in creation FA since guards have by far the most scarcity of talent.
Projected FA value: MLE
Point Guards:
1. Drew Speraw PG 6'2'' 175 22 C B- C+ D+ D D Nets
By default the highest ranked prospect in what appears to be the weakest position in FA. Drew's efficiency appears good enough to warrant a non MLE contract, should a team decide to invest in the full 30 upgrade points and camps, I could even see Speraw making an all star game appearance in the future if his volume can be boosted enough.
Projected FA value: 3 years 5 mil per year
2. Jon Davis PG 6'3'' 195 23 A- C B- F- C B Kings
This is the trap of the inaugural free agency class and my guess as the first ever amnesty of 6.0, Jon's A- inside grade will undoubtedly entice someone to overlook his horrendous handles and F- defense. But as indicated from the ASG dunk contest appearance and the C rebounding grade, most of that A- inside likely comes from jumping and strength, which is not something you want for a low handles point guard. An inexperienced GM will pay way too much for Jon and be on the hook for an albatross of a contract.
Projected FA value: lol
3. Chris Hill PG 6'3'' 185 31 C C B+ D- D B Timberwolves
The last point guard even remotely worth writing about, Chris Hill can score over 10 ppg without tripping over his own dick, which is about the only redeeming part of his game. Someone will throw a day 5 MLE at him probably
Projected FA value: MLE
Top 5 Overall FAs:1. Wayne Estes SF 6'6'' 215 22 A- C D+ C- A- A Bobcats
2. Lloyd Sharrar C 6'10'' 215 22 B C- F+ C A- A Bullets
3. Chief Kickingstallionsims C 7'1'' 265 26 B- C- D+ C+ C+ B Cougars
4. William Buford SG 6'5'' 215 23 B- B- C C+ C B Pelicans
5. Ian Vouyoukas C 6'11'' 280 34 A- D+ D+ C- C D Clippers
