One of the bigger bang or bust prospects in this class, scouts are salivating over the potential that Gilbert holds. Gilbert Arenas is a 6'4" point guard, weighing in at 215 pounds. Gilbert has a great ability to finish around the basket. He also has deep shooting range and awesome efficiency from the line. Not amazing speed or quickness while handling the ball with adequate skill, but enjoys setting up teammates for easy looks around the basket. Unfortunately for Gilbert, his game is suspect at the defensive end. While he does have a keen sense of where the ball is going, and as a result tips a lot of passes and gets a couple steals a game, he is a sub-par one-on-one defender and is even worse if he has to chase his man through screens. His defense lacks a mental discipline and commitment, and he is below average off the glass. He is strong and uses his size well, but is not the most explosive.
