Nebraska Eric Piatkowski finished his 4 year career at Nebraska very strong. Was easily the player that carried Nebraska down the stretch. Broke Big 8 tournament single game scoring record with 45 points against Oklahoma. Earned the tournament's MVP award.
His senior year started out shakey at best, but he quickly adjusted his game to the pressure defense that Big 8 teams were placing on him. Maybe the biggest change came when he started driving to the basket more often. Who knows why it took so long for them (Neb coaches) to make the adjustment, but it's just what he needed. He has good strength and balance to at least give his shot a chance in traffic, if not draw the foul and get to the line where he's a very good ft shooter, but without the typical quickness seen among TMBSL guards scouts don't expect his driving game to translate to TMBSL right away. Poor ball handler but avoids turnovers by refusing to pass. STL-TO fans don't get your hopes up, he also doesn't generate a lot of steals, and doesn't really have the ability or desire to defend well on the perimeter. Much better off defending in the post, but won't block many shots. Tries a little more on the boards than on defense or passing but without much jumping ability it barely matters. Father played in the ABA and has coached this boy well, the life long exposure to the three has paid off and he may be the best shooter in the class.
