Michigan Howard is the complete package for an NBA power forward. He defendswell, he rebounds well, he shoots well, and he works hard. What else do you want from a player. It would be nice if he could leap like Jordan, but he cant, but with the way he plays, it doesnt matter. Juwan Howard dominated in the paint in college, playing center and matching up with the biggest and best in the college ranks and regularly flourishing a strong set of a post moves and back to the basket game that is rarely seen at that level. Juwan is primarily a paint player as he shoots 70% from the line, and is not a factor from beyond the arc. His handling is merely average. His footwork is good but mostly due to hustle, not from having a lot of natural quickness to his game. Howard doesn't really pass the ball much only totally 1.8 assists per game in college. Works EXTREMELY hard to play very good perimeter and post defense, but doesn't turn that into many counting stats. This same work ethic shows up on the glass where he loves to throw his weight around at just the right angle to box out basically anyone but doesn't turn those into as many stats as a more explosive player would. His great strength will also help him match up against bigger players at the pro level. There's not a lot left to tap for growth at the next level.

Works EXTREMELY hard to play very good perimeter and post defense. Comes up with a decent amount of steals and blocks due to his incredibly heady play. This same work ethic shows up on the glass where he loves to throw his weight around at just the right angle to box out basically anyone. His great strength will also help him match up against bigger players at the pro level. Scouts believe Juwan should see a decent amount of improvement at the next level.
