Connecticut Donyell is an effective inside scorer and has reasonable post moves. His most impressive offense technique is his midrange turnaround J, a shot he will likely be able to get off in the NBA. He did a lot of damage from the college three point line that should translate, especially important since he lacks the handling ability to generate his own offense. He will be effective at generating steals and perimeter defense at the next level, but an athleticism deficit means he probably won't be much of a shot blocker. A good rebounder, but will need to improve to be among the top tier of rebounding bigs at the next level. Donyell lacks the strength though to bully his way inside.

ftr this is what happened to josh smith too... sometimes 90% of the best players from the class are all wings and you gotta slide a couple around :(

Donyell is an effective inside scorer and has reasonable post moves. His most impressive offense technique is his midrange turnaround J, a shot he will likely be able to get off in the NBA. Donyell has great handles for his height, known for a tight dribble and good quickness to navigate traffic, and the ability to dish the ball where he would get it back for a tomahawk slam. He will be effective at generating steals and perimeter defense at the next level, but he really excels in blocking shots. There isn't a shot he doesn't try to get a hand on, and he succeeds a lot. This leads to effective post defense as well. A good rebounder, but will need to improve to be among the top tier of rebounding bigs at the next level. Donyell lacks the strength though to bully his way inside, but has a surprisingly amount of leaping ability for a man of his stature. Scouts think he has a great chance to improve a ton at the next level.
