Mychael Thompson isn't a huge behemoth that throws around his weight at only 226 weights at 23 years old. He scores inside with the smooth ease of a surfer catching his next wave, flowing where they aren't and putting up a shot. This coincideded with great efficiency out to 15 feet from the hoop. Mychal is a good ball-handler as well. He is not a quick player, instead using his skills and smarts. A great all-around big man, he was also a capable passer. Mychal tried hard on defense, getting a good number of steals and blocks in college, but scouts are skeptical he can replicate that in the pros. He was a heady player who held his own in the post, but couldn't really defend the perimeter due to his lack of quickness. He was a good rebounder on both ends of the court, but was not particularly strong or explosive (especially after an injury that hurt his ankle). While he has a great all-around game, he should be able to improve in many areas as well at the next level.
