Walt Frazier PG 6-4 200 22 Southern Illinois Frazier developed his playing philosophy very early on, according to his high school coach, and carried it with him to the college ranks: aggressive defense takes priority and hitting an open man is more productive than taking a wild shot. Frazier was extremely intent to stick to his man on the perimeter -- generating a plethora of steals. He also used his surprising strength to bully around players in the post as well on both ends of the floor. Possessing exceptional peripheral vision and quick hands — “faster than a lizard’s tongue,” commented one opponent — Frazier began delighting fans with sudden steals and lightning passes. Strong on the boards, Walt uses his great leaping ability and smart positioning to do very well for his position.
While Walt often relied on his strength to score in the college ranks, his good percentage at the line (75%) suggests his ability to broaden the area he scores from once facing stiffer competition. Walt's flashy plays and penchant for the big time make scouts think only the sky is the limit for what this kid could become.
