Jimmy Walker was an elite scorer that combined hard-nosed grit with heady play to become one of the more enticing shooting guards in this draft class. Jimmy is a unique prospect, where his ability to score seems to fly in the face of his lackluster athleticism, but the results don't lie. Jimmy can score basically anywhere on the floor, with an absolutely amazing array on inside dribble moves with the ball moving like its on a string, and a pull-up game most players dream about. Scouts believe he should be able to adapt well to the 3 point line, though we have little evidence of this because he took so few shots from that far in college (because it would be dumb). While Jimmy is a prolific scorer, he is also an able and willing passer, electing to get teammates involved in the game and is often used as the main ball handler during games.
Defensively, Jimmy's smart play translates to very efficient defense. While he doesn't light it up in the box score, he is always given the toughest defensive assignment on the wing and holds his own against much larger players in the paint. Rebounding is Jimmy's achilles heel somewhat, because while he has good positioning, he can find it difficult to beat more athletic players to the ball off the bounce. Scouts believe Jimmy has the potential to have a long career in the league, with a good chance to improve his play with time spent in a pro level gym.
