Texas
They say everything is bigger in Texas and Mihm is a perfect example of that. A 3 year star at the University of Texas, he helped set new school and conference records for his play. He was the first person in Texas history to record 1,100 points, 800 rebounds and 200 blocks. Scouts are excited about what he brings to TMBSL.
Mihm can be classified as a traditional big man, doing most of his work in the paint area. He has a very polished offensive game and can score in many ways around the block. He doesn't do a lot of dribbling with the ball, but when he posts up in the paint he is tough to stop.
The added bonus of Mihm is that he has a solid shooting stroke and can extend outside the paint to score. He shot a respectable 71% from the free throw line in college, so he can be relied on there as well.
Defensively, Mihm can put up solid defensive stats as he is aggressive at getting blocks and steals but this comes at the expense of the team. He regularly gets into foul trouble and can oftentimes get himself out of position. He needs to learn to be more selective in his aggressiveness.
Mihm will be a plus rebounder as he gobbled up 11 rebounds per game his last 2 years of college. He primarily relied on his height and length to get rebounds in college and scouts wonder how well it will translate. When matched up against bigs with similar height and more strength he might struggle to put such big numbers.
In addition to average strength, Mihms is not the most athletic bigs you will find. He lacks good lateral movement and lumbers around the court. He isn't explosive in the post, although his height limits the impact that has.
Overall, Mihm is a very polished center and presents a very high floor. He should contribute offensively right away and put up some solid defensive stat lines. However, he will need to be more controlled and stay in a good position. While he showed great potential early in his career, injuries have sapped his ceiling a bit and scouts aren't sure he will be a boom type prospect.
