we have nothing to gain by ending the day early and not hearing from pete before the scheduled COB majority kill which would be him currently.
people that just want to vote him up and have no other substantive discussion that can be used in future days to help the town is just helping the mafia

Even if Trofie wanted to reveal he was the sheriff this is not really helping the town because there's been no time for people to cast any kind of revealing votes. Kill me if you'd like, because at least it will out that Trofie is lying. He's just trying to get through extra days without the town learning anything about anyone else.
