Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy
The high school star from Atlanta is being compared to Kevin Garnett or Tim Duncan by some scouts. As a senior, he led his team to the state title, averaging 26 points, 18 boards, 8 blocks and 3.5 assists per game. His final high school campaign earned him the Naismith, Morgan Wooten, Gatorade and McDonald’s National Player of the Year awards. He was also co-MVP (with J. R. Smith) of the McDonald's All-American Game that year. He's long, strong, runs like a deer and scores around the hoop with both hands. He has amazing leaping ability and extremely quick hands, which allow him to get his share of points in the paint. He is a bit overreliant on his athleticism the the paint, which is common for players of his age. Additionally, his jumper shows some signs of having problems translating to the next level, but is far from being a lost cause.
Defensively, Dwigt is everywhere, snatching balls, tipping shots, running back on D -- he can do it all in the post and on the perimeter. His ability to block shots and crash the boards will be an immediate force in the league, only possibly being paralleled by fellow classmate Okafor, but Dwigt excels at generating steals and defending the perimeter in a way that the laterally slower Okafor can't. Dwigt is an extremely hard worker and very coachable. An honor student in high school, the potential here is scary. Quite simply, he's the total package.

Also saying "Possesses wonderful ball-handling and passing abilities" seems ridiculous.

As apparent by his 0.9 assists per game as a rookie in 32 minutes per game. Apparently. Dwight should basically be Bynum with maybe a bit more scoring juice. |

Well then you're getting into opinions on whether to build a player based on their HS or Pro career, which is just that: an opinion. If you'd like your opinion to matter please submit your application to the Assistant to the Assistant DM Committee for consideration.
