Phil Jackson
SF 6-8 220 21 North Dakota
Probably the best player to ever suit up for the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks, Phil Jackson was an extremely high usage player with supremely efficient scoring in a weak North Central Conference. He regularly razzle-dazzled his subpar competition, showing off a nice array of moves (including a sexy hook) inside offensively to get to the rim.
It’s a good thing he has those moves too, because he’s only of average strength and doesn’t have a lot of explosiveness to help him finish at the rim. His jumpshot can be streaky at times, with a somewhat troubling 68% FT percentage. Additionally, Phil was not very effective defensively, even against his conference competition. He isn’t good at forcing turnovers, doesn’t block shots, and gets pushed around easily in the post. However his off-ball defense on the perimeter is respectable playing with a level head, even though he lacks the lateral quickness to effectively defend TMBSL level players here. However, scouts think with TMBSL level coaching and training facilities, that Phil has the chance to see a decent amount of improvement in these areas.
Where Phil real shines, however, is on the glass. There’s not a ball Phil doesn’t want to fondle, scooping up misses on the offensive and defensive end effectively enough that he projects to be one of the best rebounding wings in the league upon his arrival.
