Cody Zeller C 7'0 240 21 Indiana If you want a Zeller, Cody is your guy. Scouts were extremely high on Cody coming into the year, with some scouts whispering he could be the #1 pick. However, some flaws were exposed in his game after returning to school a second year that made that draft slot unlikely, being exposed by stronger players against Syracuse in the Sweet 16. While 7’0” tall, he only has a 6’10 wingspan, leaving a lot to be desired in his length at the TMBSL level for a starting center. Scouts think he may fit better at power forward, where he has shown flashes of the skill and athleticism necessary to play further from the basket. With another big man protecting him, his weakness on post defense and the glass wouldn’t be as pronounced, while his athleticism and ball-handling ability would be a major bonus. His mid-range jumper is the key, while he didn’t shoot it very often his 75.7 FT percentage suggests he can make them at a good clip. Zellers main athletic asset is his quickness and explosiveness, and combining them with his ability to stretch the floor, he can see a lot of success while attacking the close-out, leading to potentially effective scoring inside without needing the typical strength seen among TMBSL big men. Scouts agree that Zellers potential is high, but to be effective under the basket on offense and defense he will need to see a lot of growth in the weight room.
