Mudiay comes to the league after taking the road less traveled, foregoing college to play professionally in Chy-na. His stay in the orient was quite impressive for an 18-year-old foreigner, putting up 17/6/6 on 29 minutes per game. He showed an ability to attack the rack with ferocity and athleticism, finishing well through contact. He’s a capable passer who needs to clean up his mistakes with the ball a bit as he ages. Mudiay is an impressive rebounder as a point guard, especially on the offensive end. Defensively he plays passing lanes well and has quick hands, showing the potential to one day be among league leaders in the theft department. One concern area among scouts is Mudiay’s jump shot, which projects to need fixing in the professional ranks. If Mudiay can learn to make better decisions with the ball and fix his jumper the sky is the limit for this Texas via Congo teen.
