Justise Winslow is a 19 year old with the physical maturity of a 25 year old. He’s a stout swingman who oozes potential and could become a lock down defensive presence and more than capable scorer. To Winslow family matters, and he’s learned work ethic from his Uncle Karl, a Chicago police officer. This worth ethic showed at Duke, where Winslow always took the most difficult defensive assignment 1-4. Where Winslow figures to be a marquee defender right out of the gate, he’s more of an unpolished gem on offense. In his one year in college Winslow was reasonably efficient shooting 49% from the field and 42% from deep, it is in the mid range game where he needs to become more consistent. The skill is certainly there however. Winslow also projects as an above average rebounder on the wing as well, opting to fight for defensive rebounds over getting out in transition. He takes good care of the ball and is an average passer, if he can become more assertive on offense, take more shots, and hone in his jump shot then look for Justise to be one of the best players from this class.
