To say that Gallatin is a fierce competitor would be an understatement. While attending high school he was once quoted as saying “Competition has always been my cup of tea” and he proved it in every game. This drive for competition has helped prepare him for his jump to Sim League.
Outside of his drive to win, Gallatin possesses solid size and tremendous physical strength. Often referred to as “Moose” by his teammates (some speculate this could be for various reasons), Gallatin uses his size and strength to dominate in the low post. He is a rugged and instinctive player under the rim, sensing where the ball will come down and knowing how to box out bigger players. His strength is key in these situations because by his own admission, he cannot jump very well.
His instinctiveness and tenacity help him on the defensive as well as he is able to badger his opponents. His height limits his ability to block a lot of shots but that doesn't change the impact he can have. Having also played baseball in college as well, he has quick feet and is able to stay in front of opposing bigs. This combination leads to a lot of contested shots for opponents, and puts him in position to swipe the ball away a good amount.
Scouts agree that his biggest area for improvement comes on the offensive end of the floor. His rebounding prowess helps lead to easy put backs, but otherwise he won't be a reliable scorer. Surprisingly he has a smooth shooting form, he just doesn't get to the free throw line as often as you might think. Whether it's lack of confidence or skill, he rarely tries to insert himself into the offense, focusing more on the put backs of missed shots.
There is a lot of disagreement on how much Gallatin can improve once he enters the league. Some believe his younger age will allow him to naturally get better and improve. Others wonder if Gallatin has the drive to get better in his weaker areas. He is always focused on doing what is best for the team to win and willing to sacrifice.
