If there is anyone that can challenge George Mikan as the best rebounder in this class it is Dolph Schayes. Schayes is a hound on the glass and will be a top 10-15 rebounder in the league upon being selected. Dolph is a bulldog on the block and is strong enough to take on any post player in the league. He can box out on defense while using elite quickness on the offensive glass to avoid his opponents attempts to do the same. Dolph also excels in the mid range game. His jump shot is pure as is his stroke from the free throw line. He has a strong face up game and is a solid shooter all around. His range however will be limited to about the 15-16’ area. While he can bang for rebounds with the best of them, scoring in the post is an area Dolph will have to put some work into. He’s not a slouch in the post, but scouts say he does need to develop some counters and his footwork on the block. Being only 20 years old, it is certainly not out of the question that he grows exponentially as a pro scorer. He’s not going to be a John Stockton like passer, but he can adequately pass out of double teams and find open teammates. Not squeaky clean with the ball, he should be about average when it comes to turning it over. Defensively Dolph holds his own. He lacks length to be a rim protector, rather using his positioning and strength to control the post. There aren’t many flaws in Dolph’s game, and with his growth potential there is a chance he masks them anyways.
