Queens High School
Bobby is one of the few players in this draft class making the jump to the pros straight from high school. Given his age, and advanced skill in some areas, scouts drool over the potential he brings, even if he isn't a finished product yet.
Growing up and learning how to play basketball on the streets of Queens, it helped make him the toughest player in the draft. While it's hard to truly quantify toughness, it's not hard to quantify a shooting stroke, and Bobby has one of the best. No matter where he is on the court, Bobby is a threat to shoot it, and likely to score. This allows Bobby to score in bunches and often carries the bulk of the scoring for his team. He can light up the floor from just about anywhere.
Bobby is an above average athlete as he can quickly cut around the floor. This helps get him open for the spot up shooting as it's what he is known for. While he has good quickness, it doesn't really translate in the paint as he rarely looks to drive to the hoop.
His size is also a bit of a detriment to other areas of his game and scouts wonder how it will translate. He has good strength for his size but the combination of height and weight result in him being ineffective at rebounding. It’s not for lack of effort, he just simply can't hang with the much larger players in the paint.
Defensively, he is an average overall defender and won't be a liability. His quickness and strength help him stay on his defenders but again, due to his size you won't see him pop on the defensive stat sheet.
Bobby could be a boom or bust type of prospect given his skillset. Under the right conditions, and with the right coaching, Bobby could grow (literally and figuratively) into one of the premier SG’s in the league. Or, he could end up being an undersized spot-up shooter.
